Why it Matters

The consequences of abandoning American maritime are severe! The Founders knew that America must be a maritime nation if it was to be prosperous and secure. A truly American Maritime would become essential to our sovereignty and strength. Yet each and every day opponents of American Maritime wake up and fight to eliminate American Maritime and outsource 650,000 quintessential American jobs to foreign workers. Without the ability to build and crew our own maritime vessels, our nation would fall into reliance on those who may not share our best interests. Meanwhile China, and other countries, are subsidizing thousands of new maritime vessels each year, with China intent on global maritime domination.
